These values are also central components of our sustainability philosophy. For us, sustainability encompasses not only environmentally friendly production methods, but also a long product life. To ensure that you can enjoy your favorite JOOP! item for as long as possible, we have compiled the most important care tips for you in our Care Guide. Whether high-quality leather items or everyday denim: with a little love and care, you can extend the life of your JOOP! products.
WASH LESS, WEAR MORE
Frequent washing can cause clothing to wear out more quickly and colors to fade prematurely. Depending on the material, it is often sufficient to air out the clothing and let it rest for a while. Using a fabric spray and spot stain treatments can also work wonders in giving your favorite garment the freshness it needs.
TAKE CARE: SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT
Simple, yet often overlooked: pay attention to the information on the care label. Depending on the material and product type, care instructions may vary. Sort your laundry according to the respective care requirements and separate light colors from dark colors.
We generally recommend using environmentally friendly detergents and avoiding fragrance additives and bleaching agents to protect the environment and your textiles. Be careful with fabric softener too: it coats the fabric with a thin film and can therefore impair positive fiber properties such as breathability and moisture absorption.
KEEP IT COOL
Wash your clothes at the lowest possible temperatures. This not only protects the fibers, but also the environment.
It is best to let your clothes air dry. This is not only gentler on the fabric, but also saves energy. Carefully pull the damp clothes into shape and hang them up out of direct sunlight to reduce additional creasing and protect the colors from fading. Wool products are a minor exception; for more information, see our Care Guide for wool products.
To reduce wrinkles, we recommend steaming your clothes, as steam treatment is gentler on fibers than the pressure exerted during ironing.
Store your clothes in a dry place away from light. Small lavender sachets or cedar blocks in your wardrobe can be helpful as a natural protection against pests such as clothes moths.
